Today is the equinox.
A moment when day and night meet in almost perfect balance.
My yoga teacher mentioned it this afternoon during class – pausing, breathing, noticing the changes that are already happening around us. The turning of the seasons. The gentle shift from one chapter into another.
And I found myself thinking about my children.
We are all experiencing a season of change, just in different places.
Their worlds are expanding. New classrooms, new friendships, new experiences, new pieces of themselves beginning to take shape.
And here, in the quieter space that remains, I am changing too.
Learning to pause.
Learning to breathe through the unfamiliar.
Learning that change does not always ask us to move forward quickly. Sometimes it simply asks us to notice.
The equinox reminds me that there is beauty in the in-between – a brief moment of balance before the season turns again.
Perhaps that is where I am right now.
And perhaps, in their own way, they are there too.
Different landscapes. Different directions. The same quiet movement forward.
So today, I am pausing.
Taking a breath.
Letting this season be what it is.
And trusting that there is something meaningful in the turning.
What season are you standing in today?
Take a moment.
Breathe.
Notice what is changing – and what is quietly staying the same.
